This is why we should shut down all the fire stations. Let’s cut the Seabees, too. They’re obviously not worth having around, are they? Screw it, we have lots more women and children in cars to replace these ones.

I’m not sure I understand your point.

Ok let’s not have fire stations (which a lot would include EMS). Then you get in a vehicle accident, or your house catches on fire, your loved one goes into cardiac arrest, get ran over by a vehicle, building collapses onto you. You won’t be seeing anyone be able to stop that house fire. Your doctor won’t wake up at 3am to perform CPR and rescue breathing for you. If you crash your car and get trapped who’s going to extricate you? Firefighters are here for a reason and have been since ancient Greece apparently there seems to be a very good reason to keep hem around, you think?

Well said. I think if people had any idea how things actually work versus how they think they work/should work, we could have a much easier time of solving problems.
Maybe with the result of this last election we can stop having everybody tell us to cut down on social services like fire and EMS. Maybe they can stop calling everybody “union thugs.”
